This workshop will cover:
- What qLegal is and the different services we provide
- Copyright – What is copyright and what does it protect? What rights do you have? Common misconceptions and practical steps to protect your copyright.
- Trade marks – The basics of trade mark law and practice, including registering trade marks, ‘passing off’ (unregistered trade mark rights), and best practices for checking new names and brands are free to use.
- Ways to commercialise your IPR (e.g. assignment, licensing, franchising, joint ventures and spinoffs). The advantages/disadvantages of each.
